We'll be posting excerpts from our newsletter in this space over the next couple weeks.  Here's our first installment.

Intro
Happy New Year from the Operations Team at IDCG!  We hope you and your family enjoyed some holiday time, and we wish you all the best in 2014.   In this issue of our newsletter, we’ll give you an update on how things went for us in 2013, and give you some information about 2014 plans and activities.

2013 harvest/donation summary

Congratulations fellow gardeners!!  In 2013 the Intel DuPont Community Garden members harvested an amazing 5686 pounds of food, a new record.   4900 pounds of that (86%) was donated to the Lakewood FISH food bank and in Thurston County food bank.  Those food banks have seen a sharp increase in clients in recent years, and are very appreciative of the fresh produce we are able to donate.    Our top crops (see sidebar table for details) were Tomatoes, Carrots, and Lettuce.   These are very popular with food-bank clients, and they graciously enjoy all that we can produce for them.
